So « cool » is « neat », « dandy » and « divine » and when it’s sensational, it’s cool by me. On ne peut pas dire au soleil to « cool it », « chill out » and « get frosty », mais on peut rester dans le végétarien by being as cool as a cucumber. En revanche, quand l’accueil est « cool » as in « cool reception » cela ne veut pas dire que vous êtes bienvenu. Bien sur, quand l’endroit n’est pas welcoming, vous pouvez toujours essayer de take the chill off the place. En attendant, si vous pensez que je suis « full of hot air », chill out, cool down and think of brass monkeys in...

Is translation really an art?

Translation is really an art, because English is soooo unpredictable: We’ll begin with a box, and the plural is boxes, But the plural of ox becomes oxen, not oxes. One fowl is a goose, but two are called geese, Yet the plural of moose should never be meese. You may find a lone mouse or a nest full of mice, Yet the plural of house is houses, not...
